Since 2007, I have had several health issues. I succumbed to the fact that there was no known cure for my medical condition except to embark on a healthy lifestyle.

 

Then in 2008, during one of my routine medical check-up, I was informed that I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I was also reminded that I am a Hepatitis B non-active carrier of the virus. The medical specialist chose not to prescribe any medication or therapy. Instead they chose to monitor the condition. The medical staff told me that eventually if this condition is not treated, it may lead to liver failure. But God had something better for me. He moved in small, subtle and significant ways that spoke to me. It was unique because it showed me that He is personal and cares for me.

 

One day, at the car park, something happened. I was thinking about my liver. And then as the car was reversing, I noticed the wall was painted in yellow. And I associated that with the fat surrounding my liver. And as the car was reversing, the wall seemed to be getting smaller. And so I thought... Wow! Is there something I can do to reverse my medical condition? Perhaps, this thought was prompted by God. Knowing that there is nothing much I can do about my Hepatitis B status, I decided to embark on a healthy lifestyle which includes balanced diet, exercise, detox, fasting and prayer.

 

My Hep B test status was very different from the year before. It was confirmed that the Hepatitis virus cannot be detected during the 2 following blood tests. And in fact the medical personnel and I were both surprised on this outcome. It was an encouragement to me because that hepatitis B was not my focus because I already succumbed to the fact that there was no known cure for that condition.

 

This is such an encouragement to me. I continued with the healthy regiment for another year and a half. And a little while later, it was revealed that my fatty liver has downsized.

I remembered in my prayer, I was not specific on what to pray. It was just a general prayer. And God had answered my prayers above and beyond my expectation – first with getting rid of the virus in my system and followed up with the reversal of the fatty liver. For that I am grateful.
