Technical Resource Officer (Music Ministry)

Objectives of Position

To support technical operations of sound systems and related audio-visual equipment related to the music ministry in the various worship facilities.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively set up / operation of the church’s sound system and projector / camera equipment, including accessories e.g. mike stands, cables, music stands etc.  To work as a team with Music Ministry Department members to ensure smooth running of church services and events (e.g. church prayer gatherings, AGM).
  • To troubleshoot such equipment and send/collect/re-setup such equipment for repair when necessary.
  • Housekeep equipment storerooms (keeping them tidy, disposing of old/faulty equipment)
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment in all sanctuaries and meeting rooms.
  • To maintain sound, audio-visual and video equipment for regular use at all sanctuaries, including sending for repair, collecting, re-setup and where necessary troubleshooting. (This may be done by the staff, or with the help of external contractors/vendors.)
  • Provide hands on operational training, shutting down and housekeeping guidelines to Staff, Volunteers, and external parties who support Church Services, Meetings and Events.
  • Where necessary to do the “Live” mix for services, ad-hoc events where volunteers are not able to.

Secondary duties

  • Where necessary, provide equipment for off-site use upon request.
  • Schedule and coordinate work with contractors and suppliers.
  • Support for roles that may be assigned for church wide “all hands” events.

Our Requirements

  • Good communication skills.
  • Good physical health.
  • Interest and passion for Music and Technical /Sound excellence.
  • Experience in audio/live mixing with both analog and digital mixers. Formal certification/training in Audio Mixing/Engineering is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with live streaming, lighting, and videography is advantageous.
  • Able to work independently but also enjoys working with people.
  • Passionate about one’s faith, and keen to participate in enabling ministry in church.
