The Despairity Gospel: Hope In An Uncertain World (SBC Conference)
September 22 - September 23

22 & 23 Sept | 9am – 1pm | Singapore Bible College (onsite) or Online
Conference Synopsis
In an age marked by uncertainty and fragmentation, despair manifests in different ways across contexts and communities, whether in the anxiety and disillusionment among younger generations to questions of purpose, loss, and resilience in later life.
This conference will explore how the Christian gospel speaks meaningfully into these complex conditions. Bringing together a multidisciplinary lineup of scholars and practitioners, we aim to equip participants to embody biblical hope and maintain a faithful, constructive presence in an uncertain world.

Additional notes from Ps Tak Meng (conference panelist)
Just to give you a glimpse of what will be discussed:
- Critical Issues, e.g., loss of identity, grief, dementia, fear, estrangement
- How church communities may be helpful or unhelpful (often without realizing it) when trying to support ageing or dying seniors
- I will be introducing an idea which I term “Re-membering”—restoring our ageing and even dying seniors to a sense of communion and belonging to the eternal Body of Christ.
