As a befriender, you can provide social and psycho emotional support to help them age well. To this end, the SJSM Village Chaplaincy invites all who want to learn to connect better with the elderly to join us in this Befrienders’ Training course.
This course will prepare participants to provide pastoral care to the elderly and sick, the mentally ill and those who are dying.
During the four-part course, our instructor will be Revd Dino Thangamany (Chaplain, SJSM Village). He will be sharing more about:
• Roles of Christian Befrienders
• Care to Listen
• Pastoral Care to the Mentally Ill
• Pastoral Care to the Dying
This course aims to provide a consistent understanding of what it means to pastorally care for the elderly and sick in our SJSM Village and therefore is a requirement of all individuals prior to serving.

Registration is on a first-come first served basis. We look forward to hearing from you!
The three plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom account for the bulk of suffering among our elders.
