Ministry Overview:
Lay befrienders partner with chaplains to support the spiritual, emotional, and personal development of children.
Purpose/Objective:
Provide teacher relief during playtime and activities
Support chapel sessions with worship, games and Bible storytelling
Bridge multigenerational interactions in SJSM Village.
Ministry Opportunities
Who Can Serve? Youth (13+) and adults with a love for children and intergenerational (IG) engagement.
CLASS ASSISTANT
Activity: Child supervision and safety, support learning and activities and help with routine caregiving tasks.
Commitment: Once a week or ad hoc
CHAPEL TIME
Activity: Prepare and lead children in Bible storytelling
Commitment: Once a month on Wednesday
INTERGENERATION (IG) HELPER:
Activity: Assist in engagements with Nursing Home activities
Commitment: Weekly or once a month
