Approach
FLM takes a strategically proactive approach in educating, teaching, training, equipping, enabling and empowering families to grow in the knowledge and love of God, to relate with one another with grace and truth, and to reach out graciously and genuinely to love & bless others.
Purpose/Objective:
FLM seeks to reach out to youth, young adults, couples contemplating marriage, married couples, parents and those in various seasons of life – to cultivate wholesome understanding of identity, sexuality, relationships, marriage, parenting, and foster wholeness in family relationships.
MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES
MARRIAGE PREPARATION COURSE (MPC) MENTORS
Activity: To journey with couples and equip them with knowledge and skills helpful for growing in communication, conflict resolution, commitment, connection, finance and intimacy through biblical teachings on marriage.
Commitment: 8 sessions per cycle, once or twice a year
MARRIAGE ENRICHMENT RETREAT (MER) TEAM
Activity: To plan, organise and effectuate the running of the marriage retreat to strengthen marriages.
Commitment: Event-based; 3–4 months planning period prior to each retreat
MARRIAGE BEFRIENDERS & MENTORS (MBM) COUPLES
Activity: to befriend and walk alongside couples in their faith and family journey.
Commitment: 4–6 sessions per run
PARENTING SUPPORT GROUP (PSG) FACILITATOR
Activity: to befriend and encourage parents in their journey of raising young children/teens.
Commitment: Fortnightly meet-ups for 8–10 sessions
MENTAL HEALTH SERIES (MHS) FACILITATOR
Activity: to facilitate conversations on emotional wellness and faith in small group discussions.
Commitment: 2–4 sessions on Sat mornings
MENTAL HEALTH FIRST RESPONDER
Activity: to be equipped to respond appropriately and in a helpful manner to those struggling with mental, emotional and psychological distress.
Commitment: 4–6 online training and 1–2 full-day training
