FAMILY LIFE MINISTRY, Team Lead (FT)

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The pastoral staff for the position of Family Life Ministry Team Lead plays a key and leadership role in spearheading the spiritual and relational growth of families within the church. The ideal candidate should have a strong zeal for serving God, a passion for family ministries, a deep commitment to the spiritual formation of families, and the ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and lay volunteers.

  • Envisioning, Developing, and Implementing New Initiatives:
    • Envision, design, plan, organize, and implement initiatives and programs that fulfil the vision and mission of building strong families that are God-honouring, Christ-centred, and Spirit-filled.
  • Planning, Organizing, and Overseeing the Execution of Programs:
    • Plan, organize, and oversee the execution of approved programs within the Family Life Ministry (FLM). This includes marriage preparation courses, marriage enrichment retreats, biblical parenting classes, youth identity & sexuality workshops, young adult relationship retreats, Seasons of Life publications, Mental Health and Emotional Wellness workshops, and any other approved FLM initiatives, programs, and events.
  • Training and Equipping Lay Leaders and Volunteer Servers:
    • Recruit, train, equip, and provide resourceful support to lay leaders and volunteers serving in FLM ministry work, programs and events.
    • Build a core team to share and develop the vision and mission of the FLM ministry.
  • Overseeing Weddings in SJSM:
    • Oversee the wedding processes in SJSM which includes the aspects of application, administration, pastoral interviews, approvals and smooth orderly conduct of wedding events.
  • Leadership Responsibilities:
    • Provide leadership to the FLM pastoral and admin, lay volunteer and core teams to ensure smooth and effective functioning for the work of ministry.
    • Communicate effectively with various parties involved in the collaborative work of FLM.
    • Planning, tracking and managing the ministry budget in liaison with the church leadership and finance department.
  • Spiritual Leadership:
    • Provide biblical teaching and guidance, where appropriate, during family ministry programs and events.
  • Education
    • At least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theological Studies, Christian Ministry, or Divinity.
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in family ministry or a related pastoral role.
  • Skills
    • Strong understanding of the dynamics and issues facing modern families.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven leadership and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Spiritual Maturity
    • A committed Christian with a deep and sincere personal faith and an active prayer life.
