Joseph Chean is the national director of Youth with A Mission (YWAM) Singapore, a global movement of Christians from many denominations who are dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation. Joseph is married to Kim and they have two daughters, Olivia and Ashley. He attends and serves at Chapel of the Holy Spirit, an Anglican church where he served as a youth pastor and Chaplain’s Assistant at St. Andrew’s Secondary School for eight years (1989-1997). During that time, he pioneered Eternal Splashes, a creative arts outreach ministry that trains and disciples youth to do street evangelism in Singapore. He joined YWAM in 1997, and served in various leadership roles before assuming the role of National Director of YWAM Singapore in 2012.

David and Cynthia Leong were married in December 1987 and have three children — Ivan, Alyssa and Dorlisa. They have conducted training for children’s workers, parents, teachers and ministered with children and families locally and regionally for more than 20 years. They are currently freelance itinerant Children & Families Educators since 1st July 2013 and 1st January 2014 respectively.

 

David was a missionary of Grace Methodist Church, serving in Scripture Union Singapore as the Director of Children & Families Ministries, Executive Director of Scripture Union Singapore and Regional Children’s Ministry Co-ordinator of Scripture Union East & West Asia. He has a Master of Christian Studies degree from Regent College, Canada and is a certified trainer of teachers for Hope for Kids and UnveilinGLORY Seminar (USA).

 

Cynthia is a former pre-school educator and kindergarten principal for a total of 15 years, has a Bachelor of Theology degree from Trinity Theological College, Singapore; a Bachelor of Arts degree in Childhood and Family Education from Edith Cowan University, Australia and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling from Singapore Bible College.

Fest Registration

Fest online registration starts on 21 May and ends on 26 Jun 2359hrs

Fest fee is S$50/adult; S$20/child (age 3 to 10). For Youth & TE, it will be S$30 per youth or TE child.

Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of payment.  There are 3 modes of payment:

What you can expect...

 

  • All sessions will be held onsite at SJSM.
  • Fest participants to join all sessions to fully experience the move from community to calling.

 

SJSM Love Feast (5 pm to 8 pm)

  • The dinner will be held onsite at SJSM where tables and chairs will be laid out for seating at various areas on level 3 grounds (including the community hall, glory sanctuary, roof garden etc).
  • It will be a potluck style dinner where participants are encouraged to bring something each to the table as a symbol of our communion and fellowship in the household of God. It could be your favourite home-cooked recipe or your favourite store-bought food item, it doesn’t really matter, as long as it is shared from the heart.
  • The dinner and food contribution will be organized by cell zones. Menu and quantity will be determined by the zone after registration closes. You may contribute as you are able to.
  • More details will be provided closer to date.
  • Participants not belonging to a cell can also contribute and will be assigned accordingly.
  • The Love Feast will be facilitated by our Fest speaker Joseph Chean and will culminate in Holy Communion as we remember our Lord and celebrate our unity in Christ Jesus.

Programme

Sessions 1 & 2 (9:30 am to 12:30 pm)

  • These sessions will be held at Christ Sanctuary.
  • Sessions will be content light and experience rich.
  • Lunch will be catered for all participants after Session 1.
  • There will be no catered lunch for Session 2. Participants are free to have their own lunch arrangements or go home for a rest.

 

Outreach (Sunday 1:30 pm - 3 pm)

  • Due to the nursing home safe management measures, only a limited number of participants, and only trained befrienders will be allowed to visit the residents to remind them of the Village Love Feast.
  • Another group of participants will be organized to connect and to remind guests of the dinner.
  • Others will be given time to plan and pray for the Village Love Feast.

 

Village Love Feast (5 pm to 8 pm)

  • This will be a catered dinner for all Fest participants and Village guests.
  • Guests will be assigned to each zone where participants will be expected to host them.
  • Joseph Chean will provide some guidance and framework on being table hosts during the sessions.
  • Seats will be prioritized for village guests, and if necessary, participants may need to stand around.
  • All participants are expected to contribute to the set up and cleaning up.

 

Children Programme and Childminding Information

The children programme will be led by David and Cynthia Leong for children from age 3 to 10 years. There will be learning through fun activities such as songs, games and crafts.

 

Meanwhile, childminding will be available for children above 3 years old. There will be screening of children movies and board games made available for the children.

 

Day 1

  • Please arrive by 4:45pm for drop off and registration.
  • Session will start at 5:00pm.
  • Dinner will be catered separately from the adult.
  • Parents may pick up as soon as the adult session ends.

Day 2

  • Please arrive by 9:15am for drop off and registration.
  • Session will start at 9:30am.
  • Snack break will be provided.
  • Lunch will be catered together with the adults.
  • Parents may pick up as soon as the adult session ends to have lunch with them.
  • During the Outreach session, childminding will be available. Registration and drop off will open at 1:15pm.

Day 3

  • Please arrive by 9:15am for drop off and registration.
  • Session will start at 9:30am.
  • Snack break will be provided.
  • Parents may pick up as soon as the adult session ends.
  • Lunch is not provided.
  • During Village Love Feast, children will be joining parents at the dinner table. Parents may register their child(ren) for childminding beginning 6pm.
